This Bushongo mask was part of an elaborate ceremony based on the story of King Woot. A very decorative piece, it is made from hard wood and a woven material elaborately decorated with glass beads, cowrie shells, copper nails and with painted facial markings. Almost certainly made to be sold. Late 20th c Height 41cm. Supplied on a steel and wooden or acrylic base.
